MARATHON
Join the 25,000 visitors from all over the globe, who come to compete in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon.
The course is flat, fast and scenic, taking in the golden surf beaches of Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Burleigh Heads and glistening Southport Broadwater.
Conditions are traditionally good for running with little or no wind, temperatures ranging from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius through the morning and low humidity.
The 2010 Gold Coast Airport Marathon will feature an event for all ages and abilities. On the program will be the full 42.195km Gold Coast Airport Marathon, Asics Half Marathon, Southern Cross University 10km Run, Gold Coast Bulletin 5km Challenge and Queensland Health 4km and 2.25km Junior Dash races for the kids.
One of the major attractions for runners, walkers and wheelchair athletes is the Gold Coast. Visitors not only get to run in one of the leading marathon events in the world but also enjoy the Gold Coast for its sunshine, surf beaches, restaurants, theme parks and massive accommodation range.
